Gratitude
"The more grateful I am, the more beauty I see." -Mary Davis
Hello and welcome back to another blog. Today I'm going to write about Gratitude. Here we go!
First of all to those who don't quite have idea about this concept so, Gratitude means being thankful or appreciation.
Let's start from the beginning.
I've been consuming my time on social media and with people, I came to realize that everyone claims that they want to be happy however I see most of them complaining about the smallest of things. Most of them assume that by getting this-this or achieving that-that can bring happiness. They think that happiness will only come from certain things and they keep complaining about it (especially kids my age) and all I see is bunch of people with not having sense of gratitude.
So you might ask, what does this expressing gratitude thing even does?
First of all, it has numerous effects. I'm saying this all because I've experienced these things. Yess, at first I too thought that it will not do anything, but when I tried it I came to realize all these things:
You realize how blessed you are ; You have all the things that you fail to notice however these things are so important and you cannot go a day without.
You become happy; As they say, "It's not happiness that brings gratitude, It's gratitude that brings happiness" Yess, gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more.
We start appreciating things, don't worry, your appreciation for things dosen't have to be huge. Gratitude can come from smallest of things, for example, For waking up in the morning, having a cup of coffee/tea, having the water, electricity, food everyday, being with your family and friends, having that long hour conversation with a friend, being grateful for the song that makes you dance, for being healthy, for the food in your plate, etc.
There are plenty of things once you start counting on your blessings. Also whenever you've had a rough day or you're not in a good mood just try to think of the things for which you're wholeheartedly grateful for. I know it's hard to think about blessings when you feel like the world is against you, but when you take a step back and start counting on your blessings I'm sure everything will start falling into place again.
"Somebody didn't wake up today, but you did. That's enough reason to stop complaining, and that's enough reason to be thankful for. Never let your troubles blind you to your daily blessings. Be Grateful."
Yoy can also practice gratitude through writing, it's simple you just have to have a paper and a pen and just write down the things you're grateful for. You can do a gratitude journal as well. Writing 5 things you're grateful for in the morning will set you up for a good day.
I feel there's a calmness to a life lived in gratitude, a quiet joy!
Thank you so much for reading this!
Great
